DAMASCUS,(ST)_Information Minister has described the war being waged against Syria as ‘unprecedented in history’ , stressing that the Syrian people will never accept any solution impinging on the national sovereignty.
Omran al-Zou’bi, who was speaking in the opening ceremony of the “Resistance Media versus War on Syria” forum kicked off on Saturday in Damascus, said: “The war, which the United States, the western countries and their Arab and regional tools run against Syria, and the military, social, human and economic escalation campaigns being launched under preplanned agendas are unprecedented in history.”
He affirmed that the Syrian people, who is daily offering sacrifices, is able to steadfast and to notch up victory as well as it will never be defeated in any negotiation process no matter how intricate or complicated it is.
Geneva-2- conference
“Syria will take part in the Geneva-2 conference and is supported by the majority of the Syrian people to build the renewed Syria and to reconstruct it according to the Syrian interests only,” the minister said.
He made it clear that what have not been achieved through the terrorist war and economic and political pressures will not be achieved in the forthcoming Geneva 2 comference.
“We are going to take part in the Geneva 2 conference to prevent more bloodshed and destruction,” al-Zou’bi said, adding that any solution impinging on national sovereignty and doesn’t meet the Syrian people’s aspirations will not be accepted by the Syrians.
Media vs War
On the other hand, the minister referred to the importance of the cooperation and coordination among the Islamic media institutions taking part in the two-day forum to combat terrorism as large number of Arab media outlets adopt the Zionist-western media policies in the region.
Further clarification was presented by Secretary General of the Islamic Televisions and Radios Federation Ali Krimian, who said: “The west has used media capabilities, uneducated scholars to mobilize the world and to send gunmen from all over the world to kill the Syrian people.”
He sees that the war on Syria is a media war and the steadfastness of the Syrian people and army besides the united resistance front, particularly Iran and Hizbollah, are behind the international shifts.
Liberal and Wahhabi thoughts
“The enemy is seeking to open other fronts to reduce its losses and record victories through negotiations,” Krimian said, noting the western countries-led Liberal thought collides with the Saudi Wahhabi thought in some Arab countries- such as in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Yemen and Bahrain- while in Syria they [the two thoughts] have one common idea to abort resistance and ensure Israel’s security.
He clarified that that the forum aims at drawing up future plans for resistance media outlets in the light of the current circumstances which Syria is going through.
Some 37 Islamic media institutions are participating in the forum being held in ‘Dama Rose’ Hotel in the capital [Damascus].
