DAMASCUS,(ST)_Wahda,the powerhouse club of Damascus,have clinched the Republic Football Cup trophy after beating their arch-rival Jaish 1-0 at the Tishreen Stadium in Damascus.

Striker Hamoud al-Mahmoud scored the winning goal in the last quarter of the match with a fierce drive just outside the penalty box.

En route to the final,Wahda beat their neighboring Club Muhafaza while Jaish beat Shorta 2-1.
