The Naregatsi Choir led by the Father Elias Janhi and the Damascene Orchestra performed Wednesday a classical concert in the Damascus Opera House in order to prove the Syrian’s will to live and to heal all wounds.
The concert entitled “Voice for peace” is dedicated to the martyrs of Syria and it proves that the Naregatsi Choir, which came from Aleppo city, will go ahead with creativity despite the difficult circumstances in the city, the Father Janhi said before the beginning of the concert.
He asserted that the flag of culture and art will remain above the flags of death and murder.
The concert started with a musical track on peace, security, destruction and pain. It also included the Austrian musician Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s ‘Requiem’.
The Naregatsi Choir was founded in 1983 by the late maestro Boghos Abajyan to revive the classical music.
