Vershinin: The next meeting on Syria in the Astana format will be next spring

Moscow (ST): Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin announced that the next meeting on Syria in the Astana format is scheduled for next spring.

“Russia Today” website quoted Vershinin as saying today that preparations for holding the summit of the three guarantor countries of the Astana process “Russia, Iran and Turkey” “are still on the agenda.”

It is noteworthy that the last meeting of the Astana format was in the Kazakh capital, Nur-Sultan, last December. So far, seventeen meetings of the Astana formula have been held, two of which took place in the Russian resort of Sochi overlooking the Black Sea, all of which confirmed their strong commitment to Syria’s sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity.
