Vershinin, Asghar Khaji discuss the situation in Syria,  international issues

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Serge Vershinin discussed with Ali Asghar Khaji, Senior Aid to the Iranian Foreign Minister for special political affairs a number of issues of common interest, in addition to the situation in Syria.

The Russian Foreign said in a statement on Thursday  that the two sides indicated the two sides’ intention to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, including within the framework of the group of friends defending the charter of the United Nations.

The Russian Foreign Ministry added that the two sides stress their special interest in discussing crises and conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa with focus on the situation in the Gulf, Yemen, Libya and Syria.
