Vershinin and Sabbagh discuss Security Council resolutions related to humanitarian aid to Syria

New York (ST): Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin discussed with the Permanent Representative of Syria to the United Nations, Ambassador Bassam Sabbagh, the implementation of the basic Security Council resolutions on Syria, especially those related to humanitarian aid and a political solution to the crisis in the country.

This came according to a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry during a meeting that brought together the two sides in New York, within the framework of Russia’s presidency of the sessions of the UN Security Council during the month of April.

According to the statement, the meeting dealt with the current situation in Syria and its surroundings in light of the effective efforts made by the Syrian government to solve urgent humanitarian issues, which have intensified following the earthquake disaster that occurred on the sixth of last February.
