Vershinin and Hadi discuss the situation in Syria and the region
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin discussed yesterday the situation in Syria and the region with the Regional Humanitarian Coordinator for the crisis in Syria, Muhannad Hadi.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the two sides paid special attention to the humanitarian and economic situation in Syria, stressing the need to increase international assistance without discrimination and politicization, and in accordance with the rules and principles of international humanitarian law.
The two sides discussed the current situation in the Middle East region, focusing on the ongoing escalation of violence in the Occupied Palestinian territories, especially in the Gaza Strip, with increasing threats of destabilization in neighboring Arab countries.
