Venezuelan Embassy in Damascus Commemorates 6th Anniversary of Hugo Chavez Death

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Damascus held on Wednesday a photography exhibition titled ” Hogu Chavez’s Visits to Syria” in commemoration of the 6th anniversary of the Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez death.

The Venezuelan Ambassador in Damascus Jose Gregorio Biomorgi Muzzatiz stressed that the exhibition showcases photos documenting the three visits the late leader Hugo Chavez paid to Syria. The visits aimed to unify efforts in the struggle against imperialist hegemony, in building a multi-polar world order and in supporting Arab causes and people’s right to self determination.

“Syria and Venezuela are facing the same enemy which keeps interfering in the internal affairs of countries and undermining their sovereignty, said the ambassador, affirming that “Syria has triumphed against conspiracies thanks to the steadfastness and unity of its people, and so Venezuela will do.”

On his part, head of the Syrian-Venezuelan Parliamentary Friendship Society, Member of the Syrian  People’s Assembly Maw’ed Naser said that the exhibition documents the strong and deep-rooted Syrian-Venezuelan relations, pointing out that the two countries have common causes, mainly confronting western and American hegemony schemes.
