US President Donald Trump has only made the resistance front more resolute against the Israeli entity and its supporters following his remarks in recognition of Israel’s “sovereignty” over the occupied Golan, says, Ali Akbar Velayati, the senior advisor to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Velayati made the remarks in a Sunday statement in response to Trump’s announcement.
He emphasized that the recognition of Israel’s “sovereignty” over the Syrian Golan is aimed at making “Israel” feel secure and it will undoubtedly add to regional problems and make the resistance front more resolute in fighting the Zionist entity and its supporters.
In his statement, Velayati said, “The Golan is an inseparable part of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
According to Press TV, he added that the odd and undiplomatic move by the Trump administration violates international law as well as Syria’s territorial integrity.
The Trump administration’s move is aimed at deflecting attention from its domestic and international problems, giving political support to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in April legislative elections and providing Netanyahu with direct support in the face of his rivals, the senior Iranian official said.

Trump seeks new wave of tension in MidEast: Amir-Abdollahian
On Saturday, Special Assistant to the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said US President Donald Trump is seeking a new wave of tension in the Middle East with his controversial remarks on the occupied Syrian Golan.
“Trump is seeking to create a new wave of tension in the region, and his behavior and comments over the sensitive territorial issues such as Golan can bring the region under new military conditions and pose new threats against the Zionist regime,” IRIB quoted Special Assistant to the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian as saying on Saturday.
His remarks were in reaction to Donald Trump’s new Twitter announcement that it was time for “the United States to fully recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan,”. The move has never been recognized by the international community, and Trump’s announcement has created an unprecedented wave of criticism from many countries, including the US closest allies.
