Within the framework of the national campaign launched by the Ministry of Culture to shed light on the Child Rights Law, the cultural centers in Tartous governorate organized a festivity for two days which included holding different cultural and awareness activities.
Head of the Arab Cultural Center in Tartous city Mona Asaad stressed in a statement to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) correspondent that one of the most important objectives of the activities is to talk about children’s rights, provide children with moral and intellectual support and to refine their skills.
In turn, the official in charge of of “Nagham” Center said that the festivity held artistic activities presented by the children and adolescents of the center, including the theatrical show entitled “The Wizard’s Village”.
He pointed out that the show falls under the comic and awareness artwork to show the image of logic and reason, in addition to presenting shadow shows for the first time after its inclusion on the list of intangible heritage.
The director of the “ Wizard’s village” show Hassan Nasr stressed that the idea of the work lies mainly in the child’s right to act, not necessarily on the stage, but rather to represent a character he loves and develop his talent in this field.
He pointed out that the children and young adults ,who took part in the show, have the talent of acting and previous participations in more than one theatrical work.
The Festival Square on the Corniche of Tartus also hosted a literary and artistic activity , which included intellectual and sports competitions, drawing on children’s faces, shadow performances, with a purposeful collective painting entitled “Children’s Rights”, in addition to an artistic concert performed by building Life Skills team.
