Ushakov: The United States of America obstructed the settlement of the Palestinian issue

Russian Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov said that the United States and its allies have lost their moral authority to settle the Palestinian issue.

During a speech at the International Forum (Primakov Readings) in the Russian capital, Moscow, Ushakov said, according to the Novosti website: “The policy of supporting one party and monopolizing the Palestinian-Israeli settlement is what led to the current crisis, and the United States played a role in obstructing the settlement of the Palestinian crisis.”

Regarding the global system, Ushakov pointed out that the growing influence of the global majority embodies a model of a global system that does not depend on blocs and poles, which is what Russia tends towards.

The International Forum (Primakov Readings) discusses relations between countries and challenges in the field of international security and other issues, where senior scholars, politicians and diplomats from all over the world participate in an open dialogue on global and regional challenges and threats. It was named after the political scientist and statesman Yevgeny Primakov, and was held for the first time in the year of Primakov’s death, who died on June 26, 2015, at the age of 85.
