USAID distributes suspicious wheat seeds to farmers in Hasakah countryside

HASAKAH, (ST)_Within the framework of its aggression on the Syrian territories and with the aim of damaging Syrians’ food security, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) has started to distribute unknown types of wheat seeds to farmers in the areas that are under the control of the US-backed “Syrian Democratic Forces” militia in Hasakah countryside.

According to local sources in the southern countryside of Qameshli, the USAID distributed 3000 tonns of suspicious wheat seeds to farmers in Tal Hames region and the nearby areas.

In this context, Chairman of Hasakah’s Farmers Union Ahmad Kan told the Syrian Arab News Agency ( SANA) that the distributed seeds have not been tested by official laboratories, asserting that no good could come from the US occupation that daily loots the country’s resources.

The distributed seeds might damage agricultural lands and destroy production in the future, according to the agricultural expert Rajab Al-Salameh.

It is worth mentioning that the Syrian wheat is of a high quality.
