US-Turkish collusion against Syria

Newly surfaced data from Turkey has revealed  more facts about the collusion between the United Sates and the Turkish regime in the ongoing Turkish invasion of Syria’s northeastern region. The data confirmed that almost all of the terrorist groups leading the Turkish brutal invasion on Syria were armed and trained in the past by the CIA and the Pentagon.

The Turkish regime continues its aggression on a number of cities, towns and villages in Hasaka and Raqqa countryside, claiming the lives of scores of civilians and wounding hundreds others including women, children and elderly. The aggression also caused huge damage to service facilities and key infrastructure.

The Grayzone independent news website posted recently a research paper by the pro-Turkish government think tank SETA uncovering that out of the 28 terrorist groups in the Turkish mercenary force participating in the current Turkish aggression on Syria, 21 were previously supported by the United States: three of them via the Pentagon itself and eighteen others were supplied by the CIA via the MOM Operations Room in Turkey.

According to the research paper, fourteen terrorist groups of the 28 ones were also recipients of the U.S.-supplied TOW anti-tank guided missiles.

The Grayzone said that most of these terrorist groups, promoted by Washington as “moderate opposition” and armed and trained under Barack Obama administration are now under the leadership of Erdogan’s regime and joined its forces to invade the Syrian territories and continue committing crimes against the Syrians.

According to the website, the American hypocrisy and double standards have appeared in the statements of US officials and politicians who condemned the Turkish aggression on the Syrian territories and the horrible crimes being committed by Erdogan’s mercenaries, forgetting that they themselves have supported those mercenaries and provided them with a political platform at the Security Council and the United Nations for more than eight years. The website indicated that some of those US officials had met personally with the terrorists whom they are now criticizing severely.

The website said that a footage showing members of Turkey’s mercenaries executing civilians during the Turkish invasion of the northeastern part of Syria provoked US government officials, critics and major politicians to rage against their brutality.

It made it clear that in the Washington Post, a US official condemned the terrorist mercenaries fighting alongside Erdogan’s army as “crazy and unreliable.” Another official called them “thugs and bandits and pirates that should be wiped off the face of the earth.” Meanwhile, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton described the scene as a “sickening horror”.

However, back in 2012, when Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State, she junketed to Istanbul to rally support for those very same terrorist groups during the so-called “Friends of Syria” conference convened by Erdogan’s regime, the website said.

It added that these terror groups couldn’t go far in committing crimes against the Syrians without Washington’s military and financial support that aimed at serving its own agenda.

Also, the website highlighted the role of the so-called “White Helmets” as auxiliaries of the mercenary forces of the Turkish regime, They were operating as Turkish proxies themselves to whitewash the Turkish occupation of Syrian areas in the northwest of the country.

The White Helmets was established in 2013 with heavy funding by the US and UK. Terrorism sponsors and supporters have tried to show this group as “humanitarian organization”, but facts on the ground proved that it was a terrorist platform serving the terrorist organizations under a  humanitarian cover.
