US Treasury: We are Working with State Department and National Security Council on Lifting Sanctions on Syria

The U.S. Department of the Treasury confirmed that it is working with the State Department and the National Security Council to implement President Donald Trump’s directives on lifting sanctions on Syria.

In a post on its official account on the platform “X,” the Treasury stated: “We look forward to implementing the necessary authorizations that will be critical to bringing new investments into Syria.”

The Treasury anticipated that these measures “will help rebuild Syria’s economy, financial sector, and infrastructure, and place the country on a path toward a bright, prosperous, and stable future.”

A U.S. administration official stated today that the department is likely to issue general licenses covering a wide range of key sectors in the Syrian economy that are vital for reconstruction.
