US, the West Want to Sow Chaos in Syria- Larijani

TEHRAN,(ST)_ Chairman of the Iranian Shura Council Ali Larijani  stressed that the US and the West  want to sow chaos in Syria , than  establishing  democracy in it.

 (IRNA) quoted Larijani as saying on Thursday in the public  forum held at the Supreme Academy for  National Defense in Tehran  under the title ( Pan national defense) that no matter what the circumstances in Syria, it does not require to send arms to  the armed groups.

On the nuclear negotiations between Iran and the Group of Five plus one, Larijani said, “the other party to the negotiations does not seek to resolve the nuclear issue but to impose more restrictions on Iran.”

Larijani stressed that Iran  reached  a different technology such as  the missile  technology  which will be used in proper time,  adding that one of the  elements of the  inspiring task force is resistance in the region which ” we support because it is oppressed.”

He expressed belief that Major  countries are not capable of striking Iran, but ” we must look at this matter as a priority and to focus on  military and defense issues,  stressing the  need to socialize the issue of defense and give it  a popular character .

For his part, the Iranian army chief of staff Maj. Gen Hassan Firuz Abadi  stressed that Iran’s position towards Syria is that of  defense only and “we do not have any military presence there”.

We will defend Syria but by all our means but  will not get into other issues,  Firouz Abadi said in a statement on Thursday on the sideline of the forum, “adding that the government in Syria is not alone and it enjoys the support of the Syrian people and it is not possible to fight and defeat people.
