The leader of an Islamic organization in India has censured the terrorist attacks by the ISIL cult, describing the militancy as part of a US plot to disintegrate Iraq.
Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Omari, the president of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, stated that the militant Takfiri group, ISIL, has nothing to do with Islam, emphasizing that trained ISIL terrorists are trying to propagate Islamophobia.
He further described the disintegration of Iraq as Washington’s new strategy to gain control over the Middle East.
Omari also derided the ISIL (Daesh) over its announcement of a “caliphate,” stating that no Muslim country will support the ISIL terrorists, who are killing people in Iraq and Syria with Israeli and British weapons.
In an audio recording distributed online on June 29, the ISIL declared its alleged chief, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, “the caliph” and “leader for Muslims everywhere.”
Iraq is currently witnessing a wave of violence, which escalated after the militants from the ISIL terrorist group took control of large swathes of the country, including key cities last month. The Iraqi forces are pressing ahead with their fight against the militants from the terrorist group, who have threatened to take the battle to Baghdad.
The UN said last Tuesday that violence claimed the lives of 2,417 Iraqis in June, making it the deadliest month so far this year.
More than one million people have been also displaced in Iraq so far this year, according to the United Nations.
