Tehran – It is hard to look at US actions in Mideast and still believe that the goal of its military deployments in Iraq is ˈhumanitarianˈ and not protecting US interests – the real, non-humanitarian motive for attacking the ISIL, wrote ˈKayhan Internationalˈ on Tuesday.
A policy as such has absolutely nothing to do with ˈhumanitarianism,” added the English-language paper in its Viewpoint column.
The logic of US military intervention is completely based on a cynical calculation meant to boost US military and corporate power in the Arab Gulf.
So instead of jumping into yet another war, Washington should step back, temper its ambitions, and take stock of its blunders, so that the Iraqi politicians will be able solve the problems of their country, suggested the daily.
It is an open secret now that the ISIL menace, which calls itself the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, is one created by Washington and its allies.
ISIL has been significantly strengthened over the past three years by the US program to arm and back terrorist groups fighting in Syria.
Nevertheless, as ISIL butchers its way through giant regions of Iraq and subjects the survivors to a more brutal totalitarianism than the US-allied dictatorship in Saudi Arabia, Washington has decided to bomb Iraq to address the humanitarian crisis that it caused in the first place.
But intervention threatens blowback, highlighted the paper. For years US bombing created more enemies of America than it has killed. The so-called ˈGlobal War on Terror” may have destroyed the al-Qaeda outfit in Afghanistan but spawned a multitude of al-Qaeda-like splinter groups, it pointed out.
Besides, if President Barack Obama is going to risk US involvement in the fighting, it will be hard to confine military action to one small part of the multi-national battlefield, it concluded.
US attacks against Daesh to deviate public opinion
Meanwhile, Asgar Dirbaz a member of Assembly of Experts said on Tuesdaythat US attack against the Islamic State (better known as Daesh) is aimed at deviating world public opinion, Talking to IRNA, he noted that US along with Zionist regime have created Daesh and Washingtonˈs airstrikes against the group is nothing but a military show to lull the protests.
Daesh was created by Zionist regime‘s allies to provoke division in the Muslim World and spread chaos in the region, the cleric added.
Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton admitted in her book titled ˈMemoir Hard Choicesˈ that the United States had a role in creation of Daesh.
Daesh in its self-proclaimed status as an Islamic caliphate claims religious authority over all Muslims across the world and aspires to bring much of the Muslim-inhabited regions under its direct political control.
The group has been officially designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the United Nations Security Council.
