US- Led Coalition’s Continuous Crimes against Syrian Civilians Proves Its Disrespect for International Legitimacy

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Syria has stressed that the crimes continuously perpetrated by the US-led Coalition against Syrian civilians proves the coalition’s shameful behavior and  disrespect for international legitimacy and for the rules of the International Law, calling on the Security Council to assume its responsibility and move immediately to stop the massacres and acts of systematic destruction of the Syrian infrastructure.

In two letters to the UN Chief and President of the Security Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the US-led coalitions crimes in Syria, the latest of which was yesterday’s attacks on civilians’ houses in al-Boukhater village in Deir Ezzor southeastern countryside and which claimed the lives of 17 civilians. The ministry also urged immediate international action to stop these crimes and do what is necessary to establish an independent and impartial international mechanism to investigate into these crimes and punish perpetrators.

The ministry clarified that the United States through its illegal international coalition have been carrying out airstrikes on the Syrian lands since august 2014 under the pretext of fighting Daesh terrorist organization, but in fact, the coalition’s operations never targeted Daesh terrorists, on the contrary, they have supported Daesh and prepared necessary circumstances to help the terror organization continue its crimes and expand more in the Syrian territories.
