US-Led Coalition Massacres in Syria Prove that Its Goal Is not Fighting Terrorism: Foreign Ministry

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Saturday sent two letters to UN Chief and President of the Security Council about the US-led coalition’s new crime which led to the martyrdom of more than 62 civilians in Syria’s Deir Ezzour Countryside.

At least 62 civilians were martyred in three new massacres committed by the US-led international coalition in the villages of al-Suseh and al-Bubadran in al-Bukmal region in Deir Ezzor southern countryside, the Syrian News Agency SANA reported.

The ministry said in its letters that the crime again proves the disregard of the countries of the US-led coalition to the rules of the International Law and the International Humanitarian Law. It also proves that these states have no moral values and they don’t respect civilians’ lives and human rights agreements, the ministry added.

The barbaric massacre, the ministry stressed, affirms to the entire world that the goal of the United States behind the illegal operations of the international coalition in Syria is not fighting terrorism, but killing as much Syrians as possible in a blatant violation of all humanitarian values.

The ministry, which strongly condemned the crimes, urged the Security Council to assume its responsibilities and put an end to the coalition’s attacks and to conduct a transparent international independent investigation into these crimes and move immediately to punish perpetrators.
