The American journalist Aaron Mate has unveiled that the alleged chemical attack in the Syrian city of Douma in 2018 was a false flag that aimed at accusing the Syrian government of using chemical weapon against citizens, clarifying that the symptoms appeared on the victims are not consistent with the known impacts of using chlorine.

During an informal meeting of the Security Council on Friday, Mate exposed the claims made and the politicization adopted by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) regarding this alleged attack. He said that two experts from with 30 years of experience, were members of the team that was sent to Syria and conducted investigation into the alleged Douma attack. These two experts wanted to present their opinions on this issue, but the OPCW refused to meet them and distorted their reputation before the public opinion.
