US, its Allies Have no Evidence on Syria ‘s Use of Chemical Weapon: Miqdad

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister,  Dr. Faisal Miqdad stressed  that the US  and its allies do not have any evidence that proves their  accusation of  the Syrian government use of  chemical weapons and they are encouraging terrorists to use them , defend them and adopt their attitudes.

In  a statement to reporters yesterday,  Miqdad added  that this  Western policy means that these chemical weapons will soon be used  by the same terrorist gangs  against the peoples of Europe.

He explained  that Syria has provided  the UN investigators  sufficient information with  evidence on the potential use of chemical weapons and sarin by terrorist gangs  in all locations.

On the other hand , Miqdad  said in an interview with the BBC : ” We do not trust Western countries that support terrorists in Syria , especially  al- Qaeda affiliated al-Nusra Front in agreement with its agents in the region such as Saudi Arabia and Turkey”, adding  ” it is our right to defend ourselves , our dignity and land by using all available means  and our people are ready for it .”

Miqdad pointed out that any military attack on Syria would have  regional and international repercussions and  direct effects on the role of the Security Council  and  the UN , noting  that there will be reactions  that one can not control because Syria has powerful allies .

He reiterated  that Syria did not use any chemical weapon and that it has repeatedly emphasized that if it owns the weapon it will not use it  against its own people .

”  We in Syria, have  always said  we are with any political solution and we will go to Geneva with a political plan and a clear program without any conditions from any party but the problem lies  in the other party and its supporters who do not want a political solution.”Miqdad  underscored.
