US, France and Britain work to justify possible aggression on Syria, says al-Ja’afari

NEW YORK,(ST)_Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN Security Council has said that the possible military aggression on his country is to be a ‘dangerous precedent’ and will undermine the UN inspector’s work .

Bashar al-Ja’afari, who was speaking in a press conference, said that the tripartite meeting held among France, Britain and the US in the UN headquarters is illegal and aims at justifying the possible aggression which contravenes the international law.

“There is no consensus in the UNSC on attacking Syria…those who are to perpetrate crimes against a sovereign country must shoulder the responsibility,” he said, confirming that “Israel” emboldens the US to launch a ‘military aggression’.

Al-Jaafari cited that the US Administration that plans for a military action against Syria is not yet a member at the Chemical Weapons Convention.

Once again, he denied ‘strenuously ‘ using chemical weapons by the Syrian government.

UN Investigators

“I have called on the UN Secretary General to investigate the use of chemical weapons by the terrorist groups against the Syrian Arab army in new three acts…,” the diplomat said.

“We do not call for war. We call for peace. The UN investigators must take their time to reach scientific results far away from political interventions.”

The agreement between the UN General Secretariat and the Syrian government provides that the duration of investigation is 14 days and it could be extended if both sides agree.

He asserted that Syria has the right to self-defense and the military leadership is to define the way of retaliation on the possible aggression.
