US-backed “SDF” militia seizes the students’ residence at Al-Furat University and the residences of Al-Jibsah Housing Association

Hasakah (ST) – Gunmen from the US-backed “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF) separatist militia seized the students’ housing buildings located on the campus of the Faculty of Arts and Education in the branch of Al-Furat University in Al-Hasakah, and expelled the teaching staff and deans of the faculties by the force of arms.

At the same time, the SDF militia also expelled the majority of the homeowners in Al-Jibsah association’s residences within the framework of the American occupation’s plan to empty the area of its residents and turn it into a military zone for the occupation forces.

Head of Al-Furat University Dr. Jamal Al-Abdulla stated that: An armed group from the SDF militia stormed into the campus of the Faculties of Arts and Education on Monday evening and seized students’ houses. The group forced the administrative and teaching staff who numbered 24 out of the building, including the vice-Rector of Al-Furat University, and threw their belongings in the street.

The branch of Al-Furat University uses the student houses as a residence place for faculty members and deans of university colleges in Al-Hasakah, since the majority of the staff members are from other Syrian provinces, not from Al-Hasakah governorate.

The faculties of education and letters are located on the same axis that includes an illegal base and headquarters for the US occupation forces, after the SDF militia seized most of the government departments in the same axis in the context of the plans of the American occupation.

Among the official departments that were seized are the General Electricity Company, the Children’s Hospital, the Civil Defense headquarter, Basil al-Assad Sports City, the Syrian Informatics Society, the House of Culture, the Traffic Branch, the Directorate of Environmental Affairs, the Civil Registry, the Directorate of Industry, the headquarters of the Commercial Bank of Syria and the General Administration of Grain. All these headquarters and departments were used as military areas as they surround the illegal base of the American occupation.
