US administration employees organize a hunger strike to protest against Washington’s support for Is raeli occupation entity

Employees at  the US administration announced their intention to carry out a one-day hunger strike in protest against the biased US policy towards Israel, and to denounce  US  president Joe Biden’s positions  in support of the crimes of the Israeli occupation in Gaza.

The American Daily Beast website quoted a group called (United Federalists for Peace), which includes dozens of employees at the US administration who reject Biden’s policy regarding Israel’s crimes in Gaza, as saying: “The participants will begin the hunger strike next Thursday, and will come to work wearing  black and  the Palestinian keffiyeh as an expression of their solidarity with the people of Gaza, and to denounce the continuing Israeli aggression and the starvation policy adopted by Israel.

Members of this group represent more than 20 US government agencies, including the Department of Defense and Homeland Security, government employees and politicians, and hundreds of other employees are expected to participate in the strike.

At the beginning of this month, the group organized a strike to protest Biden’s support for Israel .

The groups’ officials said that  their goal is  to force a conversation in their offices about what is happening in Gaza, and to criticize American policy regarding that, because many federal employees support a ceasefire in Gaza but  they fear retaliation if they speak out or are afraid to even casually discuss politics.

American employees supporting the ceasefire in Gaza had previously published a statement in which they condemned the White House’s attempts to gather votes in support of Washington’s policy of supporting the Israeli occupation entity, at a time when voices opposing this biased policy are increasing.

“At a time when White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients is holding a party to raise the morale of the staff, a child is killed in Gaza every 8 minutes, we are disgusted by this complete indifference towards the lives lost in the region during the past three months.” The statement said.
