World Music Day is celebrated every year on June the 21st .That day gives respect to music that binds people across culture, region, language and religion.
Marking this occasion, a musical event was held on Tuesday at the headquarters of the “Friends of Music” Association in Tartous with the participation of more than 250 members of “Urjwan” three Choirs including children, adults and youth.
The participants performed a collection of the most beautiful songs in 11 languages, whose magnificent melodies roamed the five continents with their beautiful words, and simulated human values such as goodness, hope, love and tranquility.
On the sidelines of the musical event , an exhibition on music was held with the participation of the Urjwan children choir, who embodied their relationship with music and expressed their deep- love to music .
The exhibition aims to support thought and art and encourage children to present the most beautiful works of art.
The conductor of Urjwan Choir Bashir Issa said in a statement to SANA correspondent that Music Day is celebrated by nearly 120 countries around the world, stressing the participation of Arjwan’s three choruses is an encouragement for them to pursue their creativity and refine their talents, in addition to displaying their productions at all platforms and in every place that respects music and the spirit of art.
Issa explained that the celebration for this year was for the first time in the open air in the garden of the headquarters of the “Friends of Music” Association, which was recently equipped for this purpose, and it is an important occasion for joy with music and its goal is to spread an atmosphere of happiness among people.
The participants expressed the importance of World Music Day, especially that music is the only language that does not need translation and works to refine the soul and delight the soul with its sublime message and the values it embodies manly love and goodness for all peoples of the world.
