UNRWA: The materials necessary for the survival of the people of Gaza are not available

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned of the repercussions of the lack of basic materials necessary for survival in the Gaza Strip, which is subject to siege and criminal Israeli bombing.

The director of the agency in Gaza, Thomas White, said in a statement yesterday, according to Agence France-Presse: “Supplies in Gaza are running out, while the humanitarian aid entering the Gaza Strip in trucks through the Rafah crossing is insufficient.”

White pointed out that only slightly more than eighty aid trucks have arrived through the Rafah crossing since this humanitarian aid was allowed to enter on October 21.

White warned that the current system for bringing in  trucks is doomed to failure, pointing out that there are a very small number of trucks, slow machinery, strict inspections, and supplies that do not match the needs of UNRWA and other relief organizations, especially the ongoing ban on fuel.
