UNRWA: The humanitarian aid system in Gaza is on the verge of collapse

The spokesman for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees “UNRWA” Adnan Abu Hasna announced that the volume of the humanitarian aids that enter Gaza Strip has declined significantly, due to the Israeli occupation authorities closing Kerem Shalom crossing, and preventing the crossing the aids from Rafah crossing.

Novosti quoted Abu Hasna as saying in statements: “The humanitarian system is on the verge of collapse if dramatic measures or real measures are not taken on the ground. He added: There are serious developments in the health conditions, with hundreds of thousands of patients and a large spread of infectious diseases.

He continued: UNRWA announced that three out of four Palestinians in Gaza drink contaminated water, and this leads to the spread of hepatitis, meningitis, and many diseases that have disappeared, but are returning to the Gaza Strip. He noted “the continuation of the situation in this way and the continued closure of the crossing and the prevention of anything entering Gaza necessitates the occurrence of an unprecedented catastrophe”.

The brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the stifling siege is continuing, which threatens a humanitarian catastrophe in light of Western complicity and international silence.
