The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) renewed its denunciation of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, as a result of the continued Israeli aggression. The Agency noted that more than 150,000 pregnant Palestinian women in the Gaza Strip face terrible health conditions and risks.
UNRWA said in a post on the “X” platform: “No child in the world should suffer like this”, calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The Agency described the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip as a new level of despair unfolding under the eyes of the world, with the displacement of Palestinians again from the city of Rafah towards the city of Khan Yunis due to the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) confirmed that 95 percent of pregnant or breastfeeding women in the Gaza Strip face severe food shortages, while the United Nations Population Fund confirmed that 62 aid packages of maternity materials are waiting to be allowed to enter through the Rafah crossing.
