The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) called on the Israeli occupation authorities to immediately release the child prisoner Amal Nakhleh, who is in a critical health condition.
UNRWA said in a statement today Thursday, reported by Wafa Agency, that the 17-year-old prisoner, Nakhleh, who has been detained since January 2021, suffers from a critical health condition since his childhood embodied by a cancerous tumor. Due to his health condition, Nakhleh cannot receive the Corona virus vaccine, and he must take immunosuppressants, which means that his life is at risk if he contracts the virus.
UNRWA quoted the prisoner’s family comments on one of the few times that the occupation allowed the family members to see their kin. The family said the child prisoner was suffering from difficulty in speaking and breathing, which indicated the deterioration of his health. The family called on the occupation authorities to release him immediately for urgent humanitarian reasons expressing concern over the continued arbitrary detention of Palestinian minors.
