University Programming Contest For Students of the Universities of Baath and Hama Kicks Off

Homs,(ST) -With the participation of 32 teams, the Faculty of Information Engineering at Al-Baath University  in cooperation with the Syrian Computer Society and the Excellence and Creativity Authority hosted yesterday the University Programming Competition for the students of the Baath University and Hama University.

Dr. Jaafar Al-Khair, the Director of the Programming Competition in Syria, pointed out that the competition is one of six ones held at the university level, the largest competition carried out at Al-Baath University and the fourth in terms of the number of participants, indicating that there are very distinct teams and great opportunities for them to participate in the programming competition that will be held at the country level.

President of Al- Baath University, Dr. Abdul Basset Al Khatib, pointed out that the students of Al-Baath University distinguished themselves by achieving good scientific results at the country level, which qualifies them to represent Syria in the regional and world finals.

Dr. Tarek Barakat, Representative of the Regional Director of the competition, said that the winners qualify for an advanced stage with participants from all Syrian universities and then to the regional competition followed by the international one, which attracts major companies to sign contracts with outstanding students.

Dr. Akram Al-Mar’i, Dean of the College of Information Engineering, noted that each team consists of 3 students and a trainer, adding that the students of Al-Baath University proved that they are real builders of this country and their innovations will enrich the march of science in the whole world.
