MOSCOW, (ST)- Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Russian Federation Council Igor Morozov believes that the two Astana meetings open the way for serious and effective fight against terrorist organizations and they provide suitable environment for the success of the intra-Syrian dialogue scheduled to be held in Geneva later this month.
In a statement to SANA correspondent in Moscow on Monday, Morozov said that regimes like Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey are creating complications before the holding of the Syrian dialogue in Geneva. He added that “the United States, led by Donald Trump, and its allies must change their policies in the Middle East, particularly in Syria”, affirming the importance of cooperation to eliminate global terrorism and solve the crisis in Syria.
On his part, Sergei Stepashin, Head of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society, told SANA correspondent that some regional powers are trying to hinder efforts of political settlement in Syria.
“Those calling themselves opposition in addition to Deash all comes within the ranks of international terrorism which is something that must be realized by the Us President Donald Trump and other European leaders,” said Stepashin.
Director of the Political Information Center Alexi Mokhin, on his part, asserted that the Saudi and Qatari regimes are trying to prolong the crisis in Syria and to exploit it for their interest. He called for confronting these attempts and for pressing ahead with the political process to find a solution to the crisis in the country.
