United Nations: No place in Gaza Strip is safe amid Israeli bombing

The United Nations has warned that “there is no safe place in Gaza Strip” due to the ongoing Israeli aggression since October 7th.

The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for the Palestinian Territories, Lynn Hastings, said in a press statement today, reported by Agence France-Presse: “The in advance warnings that the Israeli army gives to the population in order to evacuate the areas it intends to target in the northern Gaza Strip do not make any difference.”

Hastings continued: “When evacuation routes are bombed, and people in the north as well as in the south are exposed to acts of war, and when the basic requirements for continuity are not available, and there is no guarantee of return, people are left with nothing but impossible options.”

Hastings said that armed conflicts, wherever they are, are governed by international humanitarian law, this means that civilians must be protected and have the basic components to survive wherever they are and whether they choose to move or stay.

The number of victims of the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip for the twentieth day rose to 6,546 martyrs, including 2704.
