The United Nations has confirmed that it is unable to respond to the basic needs of Palestinians in the stricken northern Gaza Strip due to the obstacles placed by Israel to the delivery of humanitarian aid.
Palestinian WAFA agency quoted the spokesman of the UN Secretary-General Stephane Dujarric as saying, “Our colleagues in the humanitarian field told us that between January 1 and 10, it was possible to deliver only three shipments out of 21. ”
Dujarric added:” the ability of the United Nations to respond to the great needs in the northern part of Gaza is hindered by the repeated refusal of aid entry and the lack of coordination of the Israeli authorities for safe access, stressing that “every day we cannot provide assistance results in the loss of lives and the suffering of thousands of people still in northern Gaza.
For his part, the Palestinian prime minister called for an immediate stop to the occupation’s aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and work to introduce relief, medical and fuel aid through all crossings leading to the Gaza Strip, describing what is happening there as a Zionist genocide, the victims of which are mostly Palestinian children and women.
