UNIFIL: Recurrent Israeli violations of Lebanese airspace violate UN resolution No. 1701

Beirut (ST): The spokesman for the UNIFIL Andrea Tenenti affirmed that the recurrent Israeli violations of Lebanese airspace constitute a violation of the UN resolution No. 1701 and the Lebanese sovereignty.
In a statement, Tenenti said that the UN Secretary General denounced on several occasions all the Israeli violations of the Lebanese sovereignty and called for halting them.

He pointed out that these Israeli violations contradict the UNIFIL objectives and its efforts to ease tension and create a stable atmosphere in South Lebanon.

Tenenti added that the UNIFIL was informed of the Lebanese army downing of an Israeli drone which violated the Lebanese airspace over Eita al-Sha’ab town, noting that the UNIFIL started an investigation into the incident.
