The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has warned that more than one million children in Gaza Strip are experiencing desperate conditions as the Israeli bombardment on the Strip continues, claiming the lives of thousands of children.
UNICEF Spokesperson James Elder told the CNN news network “we are following up on reports issued by the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza where a million children live in a catastrophic condition and thousands of others are dying amid a massive humanitarian suffering as there is no water, no medicine and no ceasefire.
He noted the enormous humanitarian challenges in Gaza, and the delays in getting aid in, even though many world leaders said that Gaza needs more aid.”
He went on to say “there are unimaginable atrocities,” noting that the way out is clear, which is a ceasefire, opening humanitarian corridors and bringing in aid.
