UNICEF calls for the protection of children and hospitals in Gaza 

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for humanitarian reasons, stressing the importance of protecting hospitals and children.

UNICEF  stressed in its appeal the need to provide unhindered humanitarian access to allow aid to reach children and families in need, save lives, and prevent further suffering.

Earlier this month, UNICEF announced that Gaza had become a cemetery for thousands of Palestinian children with the continuation of  the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.
