UNHRC adopts decision that condemns Israeli occupation entity’s violations of Syrians’ rights in occupied Golan

GENEVA, (ST)_UN Human Rights Council adopted on Thursday a new decision that condemns the Israeli occupation entity’s violations of the rights of Syrians in the occupied Syrian Golan and urges the entity to abide by the relevant UN resolutions and to stop its suppressive practices.

The decision, which was issued at the conclusion of 46th session of the council held under the 7th item entitled “Situation of Human rights in the Syrian Golan,” condemned the implementation of the colonial settlement and annexation by the Israeli occupation entity, calling on the occupation to stop its attempts of changing the legal status and demographic feature in the occupied Golan because they violate Resolution No. 497 for the year 1981.

It called for the return of refugees to their home in Golan, expressing resentment over the occupation authorities’ approval to set up air turbines on lands and properties of the Syrians.

The council adopted a similar decision on the Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, including Jerusalem, and the occupied Syrian Golan.
