DAMASCUS,(ST)_  In two separate meetings held with the delegation representing  the UN Higher Commission for Refugees  UNHCR, led by   Jacob al-Helo , the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Dr. Jasem Zakaria  and the Deputy  Minister for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Faisal al-Miqdad  stressed that ” the Syrian government  carries out its constitutional, legal and humanitarian duty  towards civilians who were damaged by crimes committed by the armed terrorist groups”.

The two Syrian officials pointed out activities carried out by the UNHCR, in cooperation with the Syrian government, and the Syrian Red Crescent in backing the efforts made by national sides concerned in securing the needs of families, forced to evacuate their homes, because of assaults of the terrorist groups.

In particular, Dr. al-Miqdad discussed with the UNHCR representative coordinating efforts for providing best assistance to refugees residing in Syria.

“There is a fabrication for the  so-called Syrian refugees  problem in order to justify foreign intervention  of  the US,  regional, Arab and Western countries in Syria ‘s internal affairs , asserting the need that Turkey and certain  Gulf states should halt their support to the terrorist organizations , so as things will return back to normal in Syria”, said  Dr. al-Miqdad, highlighting the situation in Syria.

For his part, al-Helo underlined  the importance  of continued coordination and cooperation with the Syrian side to ensure the delivery  of needed assistance , noting Syria ‘s  that Syria had  hosted thousands of refugees from several Arab countries and is the third globally  in the humanitarian and relief activities.
