New York (ST): The UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution stressing the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and establishing their independent state.
The resolution was adopted as per the recommendation of the 3rdcommittee of the UN General Assembly by the majority of 153 votes, the Israeli occupation entity and four other states opposed it, while ten states abstained.

The Palestinian permanent representative to the UN Riyad Mansour said that adopting the resolution by this overwhelming majority testifies to the international legitimacy’s strong support of the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights despite the recurrent attempts made by the occupation authorities to change this stand.
