UNESCO delegation continues to inspect damage caused to educational and archeological buildings in Aleppo due to earthquake
The delegation’s visit included schools whose structure was damaged and shelter centers where the delegation met with some students and their families, and listened to the difficulties they are facing and their needs.
The Director General of Antiquities and Museums, Muhammad Nazir Awad, said in a statement to SANA news reporter: “The arrival of the delegation of experts from the regional office of UNESCO in Beirut comes within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Culture – the Directorate General of Antiquities and Museums – and the regional office of the organization in Beirut, to see the extent of the damage that affected archeological monuments and sites in the city of Aleppo as a result of the earthquake.
