Under the slogan of your safety, a bicycle marathon held on the Mazzeh highway in Damascus

Damascus (ST): Under the slogan “Your Safety,” a bicycle marathon was held today, with the participation of students from Al-Sham Private University in Damascus from its various faculties, in celebration of World Traffic Day and Arab Traffic Week.

 

The marathon, which was organized by the university in cooperation with the university branch of the National Union of Syrian Students, the Traffic Department in the Ministry of Interior and the General Sports Federation, was launched in front of the Public Telecommunications Corporation to reach the university’s headquarters in Baramkeh with the aim of spreading traffic awareness and the need for drivers and pedestrians to abide by traffic laws and regulations in order to avoid traffic accidents. 

In a statement, the Director of the Traffic Department, Brigadier Jihad Al-Saadi, explained that the traffic process is a participatory community process that concerns all segments of society and everyone should participate in achieving the traffic safety slogan, pointing out that the broadcasting of awareness messages by the Traffic Department and universities continues through the traffic awareness program that targets the youth category. in particular.

The President of Al-Sham Private University, Dr. Sherif Al-Ashkar pointed out that based on the university’s role in serving the community and raising its awareness, the “Your Safety” event was organized on the occasion of World Traffic Day, with the participation of university students, emphasizing the need to adhere to the traffic law and ethics and in order to ensure safety from accidents.
