Under the patronage of President Bashar Al-Assad , a Celebration of the Naval Forces Day and the graduation of a new course of Naval College students held in Lattakia
Lattakia, (ST) – Under the patronage of President Bashar Al-Assad, Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, and on the occasion of the 74th Anniversary of the Day of the Naval Forces and Coastal Defense, yesterday celebrated the graduation of a new batch of Naval College students.
On behalf of the President, in attendance at the celebration, General Abdel Karim Mahmoud Ibrahim, Chief of the General Staff of the Army and Armed Forces. General Ibrahim reviewed from an open vehicle the courses of the students participating in the military parade.
Then the celebration began with a minute of silence in honor of the souls of our martyrs, and the national anthem of the Syrian Arab Republic was played.
The General then delivered a speech in which he conveyed the congratulations of President General Bashar Al-Assad and his wishes to the graduating students to continue progress and success in performing their duties and tasks.
The General stressed that Syria will remain, despite all attempts and aggressive terrorist attacks, the fortress of steadfastness and resistance. He stressed that we are strong with our valiant army, our proud people and our wise government.
The naval and coastal defense forces of the Syrian Arab Army also celebrated the seventy-fourth anniversary of the Naval Forces Day, where a naval parade was held with ships and warships.
The General, Chief of the General Staff, threw a wreath at sea, according to the adopted naval tradition, in memory of the martyrs of the naval forces.
On this occasion, a wreath was laid at the tomb of the founding leader, Hafez al-Assad, and at the memorial of martyrs in the Naval Forces Command.
