Under President Al-Assad’s Patronage, 28th Book Fair Kicks off at Al-Assad Library in Damascus

 DAMASCUS- Under the patronage of President Bashar al-Assad, Vice President Najah al-Attar on Wednesday opened the 28th Book Fair at al-Assad National Library in Damascus, SANA reported.

Following the opening ceremony, al-Attar toured pavilions of the exhibition to get an idea about the participating publishing houses and latest publications.

“With the opening of this fair, life returns to al-Assad library with its brilliant history,” al-Attar said, appreciating the contents of the fair that presents different kinds of political, economic and social books.

 75 Arabic and Syrian publication houses take part in the fair which is accompanied by cultural and art events including literary seminars and ceremonies to sign a number of newly released books in addition to fine art exhibition for the Syrian plastic artists’union.

Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban as well as some ministers, MPs and a number of Baath Party officials attended the event.
