UN’s silence on Israeli occupation’s crimes against Palestinians undermines its credibility, says Palestinian FM
Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the silence of the United Nations on the crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinians undermines its credibility and its decisions.
“This silence provides cover for “Israel” as a racist settler occupying power,” the ministry said in a statement issued on Tuesday, according to Wafa News Agency.
It added that the occupation forces and its settlers are daily committing crimes against the Palestinian people, their land and property. ” Since 1948, the occupation has not stopped targeting the Palestinian presence through the policy of mass demolition.”
The Foreign Ministry indicated that the occupation forces recently demolished seven homes in occupied Al-Quds (Jerusalem), which led to the displacement of 40 Palestinians. There is also, the demolition of 3 commercial facilities and a water tank in the town of Yabad, southwest of Jenin, and razing areas of Kisan village lands east of Bethlehem to expand settlements.
The Foreign Ministry concluded by saying: “The international community’s failure to hold the occupation authorities accountable for these crimes, which amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity, encourages them to persist in their crimes which undermine any opportunity to establish an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital.”
