UN: Israel prevents aid from reaching northern Gaza

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) confirmed that Israel is preventing humanitarian aid from reaching northern Gaza, calling on it to open the area to humanitarian operations due to the enormous needs.
The office expressed concern in a statement carried by the UN News website about the fate of Palestinians remaining in northern Gaza, where the siege on the area continues, explaining that the office submitted 50 requests to enter northern Gaza during the past month, but 33 of them were rejected outright, and 8 requests were accepted, but then obstacles were placed by Israel to prevent the office from reaching it.
In turn, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric indicated that humanitarian access to northern Gaza was extremely limited due to Israel’s rejection and obstruction of 85 percent of the requests.
Dujarric said that the displaced in Gaza City are living in abandoned and destroyed homes, while others are living in the open, and everyone needs urgent assistance, including medical treatment and basic medicines.
