UN General Assembly renews its call on the occupation entity to implement the resolutions pertaining to  the occupied Syrian Golan

New York, (ST) – The United Nations General Assembly renewed the adoption of a resolution by a majority of member states calling on the Israeli occupation entity to implement the UN resolutions on the occupied Syrian Golan.

141 countries voted in favor of the draft resolution of the occupied Syrian Golan, which falls within the framework of the Special Committee to investigate Israeli practices that affect human rights in the occupied Arab territories while the resolution was rejected by the occupation entity and the United States. 22 countries abstained from voting.

The resolution calls on “Israel” to comply with the decisions related to the occupied Syrian Golan, especially Resolution No. 497 of 1981, which considers the decision of “Israel” to impose its laws and jurisdiction on the occupied Syrian Golan as null and void and has no international legal effect.

The resolution also condemned Israel’s violations of the Geneva Convention relating to the protection of civilians in times of war, and renewed the request to the member states of the United Nations not to recognize any of the measures that violate the  international law taken by “Israel” in the occupied Golan.
