UN Chief to present report on implementation of Syria resolution on October 7 – Churkin

The report of the UN Secretary General on the implementation of UN Security Council resolution on Syria will be presented on October 7, said Russia’s UN envoy Vitaly Churkin in an interview to “Russia 24” channel on Thursday,according to Voice of Russia, RIA.

 “OPCW inspectors have already arrived at Damascus and began their work. In accord with the UNSC resolution, the Secretary-General’s report on its implementation is to be presented to UN on October 7”, said Churkin.

Within the framework of this report, UN Chief is expected to outline his vision of the organization’s role in the process of dismantling Syria chemical weapons, Churkin concluded.
