
SEOUL,(ST)_ “Crisis in Syria can not be resolved through more weapons and bloodshed” , said the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon , calling on the ” UN Security Council and the countries of the region and all parties to assume their responsibilities and push forward for a cease-fire.”
The AFP quoted Ban Ki-moon in Seoul, South Korea where receives a peace prize, as expressing deep disappointment at the collapse of a cease – fire in Syria during Eid al-Adha and urging more unity from the international community , noting : “I feel deeply disappointed over the failure of the parties to respect the call to stop the fighting.”
Ban Ki Moon added that “as long as the international divisions remain, the suffering of the Syrian people will grow”.
