UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has condemned the Israeli attack on the Iranian Consulate in Damascus, calling on all parties concerned to exercise maximum restraint and avoid further escalation.
Reuters quoted the Secretary-General’s spokesman, Stephane Dujarric, as saying in a statement on Tuesday that the Secretary-General warned that any miscalculation could lead to a broader conflict in an already unstable region, with devastating consequences for civilians.
Dujarric added that the UN Chief also called for respecting the international law.
