NEW YORK, JUN.8, (ST)-United Nations has added the Israeli entity to the “List of Shame” of countries that kill and injure children during wars and other armed conflicts.
A spokesperson for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said the U.N. decision was “a step in the right direction towards holding Israel accountable for its crimes” and that Israel should have been added long ago.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres informed the Israeli army’s attache in Washington Maj. General Hedi Silberman of the decision.
The Israel occupation has continued its brutal offensive on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023 despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire.
Fir his part, Riyad al-Maliki, Advisor to the Palestinian President, hopes that this step will lead world countries to review their relations with the Israeli entity and to end their supply of weapons that kill the Palestinians, especially children.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the Israeli occupation has killed 15,517 Palestinian children in Gaza Strip, in addition to dozens of children in the West Bank since the start of its aggression against the Strip on the 7th of October.
